At the top of the year, the folks over at Bulgaria-based independent film team, Evdemonia worked on another experimental English language shortfilm titled Mad. The plot is pretty simple and features the incredible talents of martial artists and stuntmen K.K. Kostadinov and Petar Hristov, along with towering action performer and director Ivan Kostadinov, in addition with one of Bulgaria’s most prominent stunt veterans and coordinators, Emil Videv.
The team is inactive at the moment, but hopefully projects like this will help garner places like Bulgaria some much needed attention for its indie action audience. There’s obviously a demand for the genre in the region, particularly since plenty of movies have been filmed over there, including The Expendables 3 in which Ivan himself played actor Mel Gibson‘s right hand man.
So, clearly there’s talent here to look out for. Not to mention the three-way final fight between Emil, Ivan and K.K. is pretty badass. Just sayin!
