Morale remains upbeat among the cast and crew as filming is already underway for international action star Tony Jaa‘s newest film, Skin Trade. The film is one of Jaa‘s latest ventures with mega action star, producer and writer Dolph Lundgren which pits the two in the story of a tough New York cop who flies to Thailand to infiltrate his family’s killer with the help of a local detective.
Jaa took to Facebook today to share the second official still of the film featuring himself in action, a little over a week after releasing a first photo at the start of the month, which you can view on the left. In addition, Film Combat Syndicate also presents an EXCLUSIVE photo of Jaa setting up the next shot with director Ekachai Uekrongtham on the set, which you can view after the jump, courtesy of producer Mike Selby.
Skin Trade boasts a powerhouse cast that also includes Michael Jai White (Favela), Ron Pearlman (Pacific Rim), and actress Celina Jade (Legendary Assassin). The film also stars actor Peter Weller (Dragon Eyes), and reunites Lundgren with actor Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa since starring together in Mark L. Lester’s 1991 Yakuza thriller, Showdown In Little Tokyo and director Isaac Florentine’s 1999 action thriller, Bridge Of Dragons.
Gabriel Dorwick and Steven Elder provided the screenplay with Lundgren with a final draft by John Hyams. Craig Baumgarten is also producing the film with Lundgren and Selby, and line producer Ying Julaluck Ismalone, and features fight choreography by David Ismalone.
In other news, arriving to DVD and Blu-Ray on March 11, 2014 will be Lundgren‘s role in the upcoming revenge thriller, Puncture Wounds, starring Cung Le and formerly known as A Certain Justice, followed by the August 17, 2014 release of The Expendables3. Meanwhile, Jaa is still expected to make his upcoming Hollywood breakout appearance in director James Wan’s Fast And Furious 7 releasing on April 10, 2015.
