Kang Bo’s new crime thriller is a hard-earned one with Family At Large now bowing online with an official trailer. Four years in the making due to extensive Covid-19 hurdles, the film is now on deck for a November release in China.
A retired human trafficker nicknamed “Reindeer,” is forced back into the criminal underworld when his estranged son is abducted. To uncover clues, he accepts a job transporting Li Qi, a pregnant woman, while being monitored by Popsicle, a mute boy sent to spy on him. As the unlikely trio journeys from China’s northern harbors to the Sino-Russian border forests, they form a fragile bond while navigating a dangerous web of lies, betrayal, and the brutal human trafficking network—each searching for their lost loved ones.
