FIVE-A-DAY COUNTDOWN: Captain Marvel, Express Delivery, Hellboy, The Take Down, and The Driver

Continuing the countdown, we’re listing up to 100 movie titles to look forward to in 2019. We’ve listed ten thusfar. Alas, here are five more:

Captain Marvel: You can catch any number of superhero films next year, while it’s especially worth noting that Marvel clearly has the upper hand with respect to its big screen feats leading up to its next Avengers film and following phase. Brie Larson leads the charge for the MCU’s next stop from directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. March 22, 2019

Express Delivery: 46 film festival wins in and with its inclusion in RLJE Films’ Blood Sweat And Terrors compilation, 2018 has been a great run for actor and director Beau Fowler whose hit shortfilm about a courier who tussels with his package is well on its way with feature film development. It’s early days but the prospects are still positive and with any luck, 2019 should see some forward movement.

Hellboy: Neil Marshall’s adaptation of Marvel’s dark fantasy property wasn’t well recieved at first. That all changed with a look at actor David Harbour in full costume in several pictorals, including Comic-Con artwork back in October. Also starring are Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim, Sasha Lane, Brian Gleeson and Milla Jovovich. April 12, 2019

Mark Rogers

The Take Down: The festival scene has also bared its fruits for stunt professional-turned-director David Newton whose feature debut, Amber scored up to nearly two-dozen awards for its run. The newly titled action thriller about hitman whose second chance following a botched hit job pits him against his corrupt boss and a team of deadly assassins, is on deck for worldwide distribution this year. Date pending.

The Driver: The combined talents of director Wych Kaosayananda and a cast that further sees Mark Dacascos, Brahim Achabbakhe and others leading the charge are what await for this recent bit of coverage shared on multiple sites before ours. As it stands, I can also report that this film is one within a universal trinity of zombie apocalypse actioners that will also forsee the return of action star Kosugi Kane at some point.

The list continues tomorrow.
