Filming in Romania is underway for a new upcoming action thriller titled Hunted. Set for a possible 2014 release, the film reunites Hellbinders helmer Mitch Gould, a fellow actor and action performer solely taking over writing and directing duties for this latest feature production with co-star and stunt coordinator Dan Southworth since both appeared in Isaac Florentine’s 2001 direct-to-DVD martial arts action blowout, U.S. Seals 2: The Ultimate Force.
Southworth‘s official Facebook page just unveiled a small behind the scenes taste of what’s to come for the new film that stars Southworth in the hardhitting sci-fi action vehicle led by actresses Dominique Swain and Natasha Malthe in a story described as an “‘Expendables’ meets ‘The A-Team'” full-throttle action flick about a group of U.S. mercenaries who get ambushed and betrayed by their own government and must defend themselves against a deadly human droids programmed to kill them. Produced by co-star Jo Marr, the film also stars Jason Earles, Oleg Taktarov, Louis Mandylor, Richard Reid, Steve Pound and Borislav Sarandev.
Malthe will next be seen in the home DVD and Blu-Ray release of Nordic fantasy action adventure, Vikingdom on January 21, 2014. Southworth currently appears in episodes 2, 3 and 4 of the Warner Bros. Digital release of Mortal Kombat: Legacy – Season 2 on Machinima’s official YouTube channel.
