In the beginning, the universe and its realms were in harmony, but even gods are not immune to power and greed. This balance was soon thrown into discord. The power-hungry gods challenged each other over the fates of their respective realms. They battled to the death in tournaments alongside mortal champions chosen from each realm. For millennia, Shao Kahn — the Emperor of Outworld — has successfully expanded his domain by defeating other realms. Edenia was the last realm to lose the tournament and fall to Shao Kahn. Ten years ago in the last tournament, Outworld and Earth-realm’s warriors clashed, and Liu Kang emerged victorious. Earth-realm was spared. But now Shao Kahn’s challenge has come again, and a new war is about to commence. The fate of Earth-realm and its inhabitants rests upon the outcome of this tournament. Let the kombat begin.

Go Behind The Scenes With Dan Southworth On HUNTED
Filming in Romania is underway for a new upcoming action thriller titled Hunted. Set for a possible 2014 release, the film reunites Hellbinders helmer Mitch Gould, a fellow actor and action performer solely taking over writing and directing duties for this latest feature production with co-star and stunt coordinator Dan Southworth since both appeared in Isaac Florentine’s 2001 direct-to-DVD martial arts action blowout, U.S. Seals 2: The Ultimate Force.
Kevin Tancharoen Retires From MORTAL KOMBAT
Hopes arose once more with the production of the Glee: 3D director’s seven-and-a-half minute 2010 fan film trailer, Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, depicting seven of the famous characters from the successful franchise with Michael Jai White, Ian Anthony Dale, Richard Dorton, Matt Mullins, Lateef Crowder, Jeri Ryan and James Lew. Rebirth eventually led to the production of the hit webseries, Mortal Kombat Legacy, which aired in the Spring of 2011, followed by Mortal Kombat Legacy 2 back in September.

Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 2 debut on Machinima‘s YouTube channel a little less than a year after completing filming in late 2012, following the major success of Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 1 in 2011. Talk of a third season is still keeping the fanbase alive in addition to further hopeful news about the currently developing film from a screenplay by Oren Uziel, so stay tuned for more info as it comes.

It’s the news BEFORE the news that Mortal Kombat fans are longing to follow up on in attendance at San Diego Comic Con, with the upcoming September web airing of Mortal Kombat: Legacy – Season 2. And with a movie currently in the works (in addition to the creation of a new original character for the currently developing film), hopefully the public will gain a more broader and bigger (apologies for the pun) a taste of things to come.

In light of the upcoming second season of Legacy, online channel Machinima became the first internet venue to purchase airtime by broadcasting a shorter clip of the trailer from February on AMC. The move is a major milestone for Machinima and Warner Bros. as fans painfully and anxiously await as I do for Kombat to begin!
