HAVOC (Finally) Begins Additional Photography
Action thriller Havoc is finally underway with additional photography on the Gareth Huw Evans-directed pic. Production previously took place between July and October of 2021 before Evans hinted at some more needed work on the film in the last few years.
Several factors hampered its speed in that time, including cast scheduling, the pandemic, and the strikes. In that time, Evans also took the time to refurbish his hit 2011 actioner, The Raid, which screened for select audiences and debuted on 4K disc back in January.
With Havoc, the film had reportedly been complete with just five percent of production remaining. On Monday, Evans formally announced on Instagram that that cameras were rolling to get the rest finished.
Contrary to rumours over the last 2 and a half years – today actually marks the first day of additional photography to finally complete HAVOC.
It’s been a long old road filled with scheduling issues, strikes and more scheduling issues while we’ve worked to get the band back together.
But here we are and away we go.
Massive thanks to crew and cast, old and new. Massive thanks also to @netflix for their unwavering commitment and support to this project.
Onwards.
Evans is directing Havoc which stars Tom Hardy, along with Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, and Luis Guzman. Both Evans and Hardy are among those producing.
A bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.
A release date via Netflix is still pending, so whether it’s later this year or sometime next remains to be seen. Otherwise, follow Evans on IG for all things Havoc!
