Help Leo Kei Angelos Make THE JUMP For His Latest Project!
Vietnam continues to be a place of surprise potential for action films over the last few decades. That’s not to say I know where indie director and stunt performer Leo Kei Angelos’s (“Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” Halloween Kills) new short is going, but it pays homage to the genre if the details available at his Seed And Spark campaign platform are any clue.
The new short is called The Jump, and Angelos filmed it in the course of four shooting days within two weeks. Angelos filmed the short in Vietnam marking his return to the country after 20 years of climbing the ladder as an action actor and stunt performer, and independent filmmaker working in Los Angeles.
As Angelos details it, The Jump is inspired by his own exploits growing up as an action fan watching Jackie Chan movies in the 90s. The story centers on a young Jackie Chan fan who one day sees the screen legend performing a stunt in a movie and dares to prepare himself to perform that same stunt, with dreams that fare far less than the expectations of his father and society over all.
Angelos also has plans to make a feature film in the region in due time. Meanwhile, The Jump is currently in post-production with Angelos now looking to lend the process an extra cash boost to complete his efforts. He now makes his case in the campaign video below, later joined by David Cheung (“Andor,” Barbie, Atlas) who is on-board as co-producer.
