HEROES: 1 OUT OF 100 Part Two Trailer Brings The Bam Fam Back For More
Director Robert Parham has found his footing of late with 2022 indie martial arts drama, 1 Out Of 100. That project teamed up the director with celebrated martial arts athlete and actor Willie “Bam” Johnson and his two sons, Marshieh and Zarion Johnson, for the story of a paroled ex-con tasked with mentoring a martial arts prospect while straddling between the stringent conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, and a perpeutally abusive culture of police.
That film is available for streaming as of this write-up while its sequel, Heroes: 1 Out Of 100 Part II, is now poised for an audience at this month’s Virginia Black Film Festival. Johnson produces via FuYah Productions and rejoins his young co-stars along with actor and martial artist R. Marcos Taylor, with Parham directing from a script by Stephen F. Wilkes. Johnson is reportedly using the momentum of the film’s push to provide one million scholarships through his Maryland-based 501(c)(3) non-profit org, Urban Spirit Foundation, to platform martial arts training and coaching, and empower at-risk youth, teenagers, families, and communities.
