[UPDATED] Hey NYC! Come Check Out HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS At The IFC Center In February!

UPDATE – 2.16.24 3:35pm EST: Screening for the 7pm slot on February 28 for Hundreds Of Beavers has sold out! Congratulations to the filmmakers as well, and indeed, folks still keen on seeing the film may do so with TWO new screening slots opened, including one for the same evening at 9:45pm, and one on March 1 at 7pm at  New Plaza Cinema. More info is still available at the Partiful page.

EARLIER: I only got wind of this invite on Monday and as such, I’m compelled to stan a friend on this platform like I do frequently. Because that’s who Jon Truei is to me, and has been since I met him more than a decade ago at a New Years’ Eve party.

Truei is a filmmaker whose work history dates back to the pre-YouTube era of indie action along with the likes of Joey Min, Fernando Jay Huerto, Leroy Nguyen, Eric Jacobus, Larry Leong and Emmanuel Manzanares among others in their pedigree. His specialty varies in different genres but the bread and butter is in the action arena, nowadays as fight choreographer on increasingly larger projects, including and specifically director Mike Cheslik and Ryland Brickson Cole Tews’s latest crowdpleaser, Hundreds Of Beavers, which announced its North American tour a few weeks ago.

One of its first stops will be at New York City’s IFC Center on February 28 where Truei will be on hand along with the team behind the film as they have been with the send-offs its been getting from festival audiences in the past year. On that note, a lot can happen in the next thirty days, but as seldom as I get to go to events, I hope I can make it to this. To that end, I hope you all in the tri-state area with a love for slapstick action and laughs will be able to make it too.

The event’s Partiful page has more info with a direct link to purchase tickets regardless if you’re an IFC member or not. Come one, come all. Let’s support this movie!
