Jimmy Henderson’s 2017 Cambodian action comedy hit, Jailbreak, is coming to Digital and VOD starting this Friday from Film Movement and Omnibus Entertainment. Alas, Film Combat Syndicate is proudly sharing an exclusive clip from the film which you can view below, showcasing actress and martial artist Tharoth Sam and Céline Tran going pound-for-pound in a locked-down prison.
That sequence plays out well into the latter half of Jailbreak wherein a ragtag unit of prison escorts find themselves fighting for their survival against the prison’s inmates run amuck amid a larger scheme – one involving the deadly Butterfly Gang and its sword-wielding leader. Sam and Tran join a cast that also lists Jean-Paul Ly, Dara Our, Dara Phang, and Savin Philip, with action sequences by Ly and action coordinator Esa W. Sie.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t Sam’s only on-screen rodeo either. The Khmer-fighting Atomweight also shares credits in Angelina Jolie’s First They Killed My Father, as well Jason Moore’s action comedy Shotgun Wedding, Ryan Jaeger’s The Lockdown, and more, including reuniting with Henderson for his action follow-up, KTV: Killing Time Violently. She’s got more in store from what I can briefly look up, and I certainly look forward to seeing what comes next after this.
Enjoy the clip after the break and catch the trailer just beneath.
