The Mongolian action adventure was penned by Boldkhuyag Damdinsuren, and Baatarsuren whose 2017 novel serves as the basis for the film.

The film marks the latest iteration of an historical heroine heralded over the last four centuries around the world in literature, theater and film, most notably in Giacomo Puccini’s famed opera, “Turandot.”
