Joel Kinnaman Battles Weaponized Robots And Internal Conflict In The New Trailer For ROBOCOP

Another brand new international trailer went hot on Wednesday for the upcoming 2D/3D/IMAX February 12, 2014 U.S. release of Robocop. Going into it, remember when most of us had our doubts about it? Well, I’m sure some of you still do, but the new trailer still attracts seems to attract some interest. There’s more drama, more intensity, a little more poignancy…oh, and yes, actor Joel Kinnaman on a motorcycle beasting his way through killer robots, explosions, etc. You know? Fun stuff!

Personally, I miss Don LaFontaine as I still feel trailers still need that extra voice over edge from a cinematic perspective. But that’s just me. I like what I see so far from Josè Padilha, and I look forward to watching how this new vision works out. Granted, it won’t be Paul Verohoeven, but it looks truly watchable. So far.
Kinnaman stars with Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Gary OldmanMichael KeatonSamuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. WilliamsJay Baruchel and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Rest Don.

SYNOPSIS:

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.
