The First Teaser For JUNGLEE Sees Vidyut Jammwal Going Into ‘Protector’ Mode

You’d be forgiven if you expected Tony Jaa to pop up at some point in the first official teaser for the new family action adventure, Junglee; The last five years of note have been especially prolific for action star Vidyut Jammwal whose caliber in stunt performance in films like Commando (2013) and its sequel and screenfighting have earned him equal praise and hype.

There’s not a whole lot of it seen here in the teaser but you get an ample whiff of it by the tail end after some glossy jungle scenery host to Jammwal enjoying some playtime with his favorite big friends. Cue the Tom Yum Goong feels even further when you learn the story is about a vet whose homecoming to his father’s elephant reserve sees him fending off an international poaching racket.

The man behind Junglee is Chuck Russell whose own cadre of memorable titles dates back to his debut with Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and The Blob a year later; He’s since added to his variety of work with the zany supernatural Jim Carrey comedy, The Mask, and even dipped into big scale action for a time with Eraser and The Scorpion King adding Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to his credits.

Junglee is currently due for theatrical release on April 5, 2019, so if you’ve been waiting for a bit on this, consider this a warm reminder of what’s to come. This may even hit festivals as well, so stay tuned!
