KILLER 11: Jon Alagoa And Waiku Lam Kill Or Be Killed In The New Action Comedy Short
In ”Killer 11”, we follow Bret Infinity, attempting to improve his rank as a hitman, so he is challenging Jinrei Long, an actor and swordsman, to a duel. The challenger not only has to pay for the location of his opponents choosing, but also fight using their weapon of choice, in this case the katana. Organising proceedings is Christian Foo, an enigmatic representative. Given their main profession, only one of them will make it out alive.
Aeddan Sussex directs the sharp new action comedy short, Killer 11, and stars Jon Alagoa, Waiki Lam and Tom Smart. Alagoa directed the action next to Lam serving as stunt coordinator on the project which just bowed at the UK’s tenth Fighting Spirit Film Festival among dozens of other entries.
The short also takes some inspiration from SUDA51’s video gaming action series “No More Heroes”. Alagoa writes more on this end:
Both myself and the director are big fans of that franchise so there’s a lot of references to those game in here. If you’re also into SUDA51’s game, I’m sure you’ll get the reference. The contrast in colours and fighting styles of the two main characters are a homage to Samurai Champloo, which finished 20 years ago this year and also the Korean period action film, Uprising, which came out last year when I was devising the script for this piece.
