KINGDOM Saga Teases Fifth Chapter With New Poster
It won’t be long before Netflix series Alice In Borderland continues onward with its next season. In the meantime, fans of actor Kento Yamazaki can take an eyeful at the actor in the newest poster for the next chapter of the Kingdom saga hailing a 2026 release from Toho.
Shinsuke Sato is back at the helm culminating the now five-film saga that launched in 2019 based on Yasuhisa Hara’s hit manga and the subsequent animated series. Set during the Warring States period, the franchise follows the sweeping tale of a young war orphan who commits himself becoming to the greatest general, living up to the memory of his beloved best friend who sacrificed himself for the King of the Qin state, who aims to bring peace to a unified China.
Other concurrent members of the franchise up to last year’s fourth chapter partly include Ryo Yoshizawa, Kanna Hashimoto, Takao Ozawa, Masami Nagasawa, Nana Seino, Anne Watanabe, Koji Kikkawa, and Shun Oguri, among others. The films have won a bevy of awards, including last year’s Best From The East Award which Yamazaki was on hand to receive at the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival.
Shinzo Matsuhashi, whose credits also include Under Ninja, as well as The Silent Service and Golden Kamuy films and dramas, is also back on board producing for Credeus, Inc. for which he serves as CEO. Further casting info remains pending.
