KUNG FU DEADLY: Steven He Stars In The New Martial Arts Comedy Now Filming In Ireland
Nowadays when he’s not satiring Asian stereotypes, comedian, actor and influencer Steven He (GINORMO!) is on set filming his new martial arts comedy, Kung Fu Deadly. Essential Film Group is handling world sales on the film which is now rolling cameras in Dublin and County Meath, Ireland.
The movie concerns two hapless pest controllers who are thrust into mortal danger when they accidentally tranquilize a Taoist hunter of Chinese undead aka “Jiangshi” who are spreading through the city. Having interrupted her pursuit of a centuries old enemy and with the clock ticking, they must reluctantly band together to rid the city of this supernatural menace the only way they know how: extermination.
Fergal Costello is directing from a script by Nicholas Cooper, and by Paddy McDonald who is also producing. Rounding out the cast are Michael Tient, Gemma Chua-Tran, Jason Tobin, and Max Huang, with action sequences by Lee Huang.
Kung Fu Deadly hails from McDonald’s Spellmaker Productions and Cooper’s Parc Entertainment Captial which is also financing. Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán and Screen Queensland are backing the project with Brisbane based Chop Shop Post handling post-production, and Radioactive Pictures distributing the film in Australia and New Zealand.
Zane O’Donahoo and Chris Dirckze are exec producing.
