LES SENTINELLES: Supersoldier Battles Heat Up WWI In The Official Promo For French Streaming Adaptation
Canal+ is out on Monday with a new original series for French streamers with Les Sentinelles. The hourlong eight-part episodic is based on the graphic novel created by Xavier Dorison and Enrique Breccia, and features Louis Peres leading the cast.
At the outbreak of WWI, a severely wounded soldier named Gabriel Ferraud is selected for a top-secret research program headed by the French Army, which aims to create a whole new breed of combatant. After being injected with a mysterious serum, Gabriel is endowed with unprecedented abilities. Now stronger, faster, and more resistant than the average human, he joins an elite unit of augmented soldiers known as the Sentinels. But he is soon confronted with a terrifying reality that could change the course of the war.
The show was eight years in the making and the word is that the folks at Studiocanal are plotting more seasons, pitting French protagonists against German supersoldiers alike. The first season of Les Sentinelles is directed by Thierry Poiraud and Edouard Salier, and if you live in France or have an account, check out the promo below and find the show here.
