LOKI Adds ‘The Endless’ Directors To Shepherd Season Two

Disney+ hit series, Marvel Studios’ Loki, will get a second season, with Deadline‘s Justin Kroll reporting exclusively on the addition of directing duo Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson (The Endless, Synchronic). The two will direct a majority of the six-episode second season from a script by Eric Martin, with series star Tom Hiddleston joined by Michael Waldron to executive produce season two.

Thursday’s update marks a reunion for Benson and Moorhead who also directed several episodes for its upcoming Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke. With Loki, they will continue the saga of the title character with Hiddleston reprising the role he firstly debuted in Marvel Studios’ Thor (2011), whose actions in Avengers: Endgame (2019) – a la The Avengers (2012) – forced a split between two versions of Loki, here seeing the god of mischief then trapped in a different dimension and forced to comply with the Time Variance Authority, all while uncovering damning secrets of the TVA, as well as battling monsters and other enemies, and crossing paths with other Loki variants in the process.

The show is currently the only one among the Disney+ line-up getting a second season, with Falcon In The Winter Soldier setting up a feature film continuation as of last year starring Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America.
