Marvel Confirms New DAREDEVIL Series For Disney+

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce a new Daredevil series for Disney+, a move that makes things all but official following years of rumors since its Netflix cancellation in 2018, and recent confirmation that series actor Charlie Cox’s cameo in a recent Marvel/Sony pic affirmed that his portrayal is canon for the MCU.

Long since Ben Affleck’s time in the red suit as “the man without fear” in 2003 for 20th Century Fox, the latest show was produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios for Netflix and featured Cox for three seasons in the role as he tackled Kingpin, the menacing anti-hero Punisher and Bullseye to name a few. The show’s exhilirating fight scenery would be a standard bearer by fans for the interwoven shows that followed suit: Jessica Jones (starring Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), all leading up to one season of The Defenders in 2017.

By 2019, the relationship between Marvel and Netflix reportedly fizzled and all the shows were cancelled, and as of March, have since found a new home on Disney+ which has been host to a successful raft series dramas of late, including Falcon And The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye and Loki, the latter which was just reported to be the most watched show on the platform according to a statement by Marvel head Kevin Feige at Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers this week in New York.
