MATCH MONDO: First Casting Announced For New Live-Action Adaptation

Ryusuke Kurahashi is being reported to helm Match Mondo, a live-action adaptation of the battle action manga of the same name by Shougo Horiuchi. It’s also been announced that actor Kotaro Daigo (Weathering With You) is among the first to be cast in the film as further casting ensues via auditions.

The story follows a man who finds himself being pursued via his involvement in “Match to Match,” a fighting app that connects users with other opponents. Kurahashi, who has served as assistsnt director Takashi Miike (The Mole Song: Hong Kong Capriccio), will direct from a screenplay written by Yugo Sakakoto (Baby Assassins trilogy, Ghost Killer).
