Michelle Rodriguez To Take A Break After Fast 7

Perhaps one of the more bigger films making huge waves among its fans around the world is the incredible and spectacular, action-packed sequel thriller, Fast And Furious 6, which is set to open theatrically in the U.K. a week before the U.S. release on May 24, 2013. The cast is currently premiering the film at a press junket in London, along with actress Michelle Rodriguez, who has already made a few revelations this week, one of which indicated that Jason Statham had been confirmed for the seventh installment in the film franchise to be directed by James Wan, with director Justin Lin stepping aside.

There are multiple film clips available online highlighting the film’s intense and pulse pounding action. The biggest scenes expected to thrill Fast fans are the titanic hand to hand fight scenes coordinated by Olivier Schneider, whose previous works include Taken and Safe House. You can check out a few of those clips by clicking HERE.
Omg Yahoo! managed to clip a few passages from Rodriguez’s interview with Access Hollywood where she discusses her experience working with MMA expert and risen action star, Gina Carano:

“It’s an action movie and I have so much responsibility just being a girl, like, in this lane of tomboyishness. I have to represent, [I said], ‘We have to make this real,…I don’t mind getting the crap beat out of me, as long as it’s believable. For me, that comes first and foremost in the whole thing.”

In the same article, it was noted that Michelle revealed in an interview with Cosmo Latina stating her plans to retire from acting so she can focus on her dream Hollywood job, which is to become a writer, telling the public:

“The truth is I’m about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera. I got into this business to write. I’ve waited 13 years to actually do it. You know how painful that is? It’s very painful. But like now I’m ready, so that means I have to do the cutoff. I’ll go into the mountains, and bye-bye everybody. Well, I’m a Cancer so…it’s in my nature to hide.”

Michelle Rodriguez, now 34, is no stranger to taking on blockbuster action on the big screen, having appeard in a few of the previous Resident Evil films, as well as Battle: Los Angeles, Avatar, S.W.A.T., and her breakout role in Girlfight. It will be sad to see her go as this film series comes to a potential close. But I am definitely looking to see what she can deliver from script to screen.
