MORTAL KOMBAT II Delayed Until Summer 2026
Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat II will release on May 15, 2026, according to the trades on Friday. The word is that Warner Bros. Pictures is looking toward a less-crowded theatrical space next year compared to the previous October 24 which also sits nears Halloween.
Based on the Netherrealm Studios game franchise, McQuoid directs the sequel from a script by Jeremy Slater that continues the epic tournament fighting saga from the 2021 hit that now introduces Karl Urban in the arena. He joins a mix of new and returning cast members including Ludi Lin, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Max Huang, Tadanobu Asano, Chin Han, Hiroyuki Sanada, Josh Lawson, and Joe Taslim, along with Chin Han, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, C.J. Bloomfield, Martyn Ford, and more.
Eight more months, eh? Oh well, some of us have survived worse. Bring it.
