MORTAL KOMBAT LEGACY: SEASON 2 Gets A Home Release Date!

Speculation continues over whether or not recent signs of a season three will come through for Mortal Kombat fans who have otherwise become fond of Machinima’s online webseries since any quantitative progress on a feature film remains to be seen. As such, given we have a new game on the way next year with a batch of hot new characters, I could see how some changes would likely need to be made if writer/director Kevin Tancharoen and screenwriter Oren Uziel so chose, but again, nothing is yet known since Tancharoen unceremoniously left the Mortal Kombat frey and mysteriously popped up earlier this year.
It really is all just a mystery, and one that awaits solving as we approach a hopeful official announcement. In the meantime, Warner Bros. will be distributing last year’s Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 2 on Blu-Ray on October 14. Fans can also find Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 1 on DVD following its Blu-Ray exclusive release in late 2011.
SYNOPSIS:

In the beginning, the universe and its realms were in harmony, but even gods are not immune to power and greed. This balance was soon thrown into discord. The power-hungry gods challenged each other over the fates of their respective realms. They battled to the death in tournaments alongside mortal champions chosen from each realm. For millennia, Shao Kahn — the Emperor of Outworld — has successfully expanded his domain by defeating other realms. Edenia was the last realm to lose the tournament and fall to Shao Kahn. Ten years ago in the last tournament, Outworld and Earth-realm’s warriors clashed, and Liu Kang emerged victorious. Earth-realm was spared. But now Shao Kahn’s challenge has come again, and a new war is about to commence. The fate of Earth-realm and its inhabitants rests upon the outcome of this tournament. Let the kombat begin.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy II stars Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung (reprising his role from the 1995 film), Casper Van Dien as Johnny Cage, Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion, Samantha Tjhia as Kitana, Brian Tee as Liu Kang, Eric Jacobus as Stryker, Michelle Lee as Mileena, Mark Dacascos as Kung Lao, David Lee McInnis as Raiden, Harry Shum, Jr. as Kuai Liang, Kim Do Nguyen as Ermac and Daniel Southworth as Kenshi.

Not for nothing, but with the way Season 2 ended, it’s quite obvious a third season is in order. Just sayin.
