NAIL HOUSE: Help Freddie Wong Defend The Family Restaurant In The New Action Comedy Crowdfunder!
Actor and filmmaker Freddie Wong unleashed the hounds this week with the crowdfunding launch of his new action comedy, Nail House. The project marks a second feature offering for Wong and co-helmer Matt Arnold, who premiered their freshman feature in 2024 with We’re All Gonna Die.
Dicky and Danny Wong grew up roughhousing in Mama Wong’s Dumpling House, their mom Karen’s humble restaurant. After her sudden and tragic death, they vowed to keep it running together… but Danny skipped town to chase fame, leaving Dicky alone to shoulder the burden of tradition, debt, and dumplings.
Twenty years later, a soulless tech corporation wants Dicky’s land, and a gangster wants Danny’s kneecaps, so the estranged brothers reunite, lock the doors, and fight like hell.
Isolated and trapped in a construction pit with no resources, the brothers must fend off killer lawyers, ruthless monsters, hunger, thirst, and even an army of rats.
The campaign can be found at Backerkit which is host to everything you need to know about Nail House and its production goals, as well as a short proof of concept woven into a two-plus hour documentary for “The Boxcar Fight, and the painstaking weeklong effort to bring the shortfilm to life for the campaign.
