News Briefs: BOND 25 + Other Release Date Delays; THE SINNERS Sells From Arclight; RAGE Lands At Gravitas For U.S.; Guy Ritchie Actioner Casts Grant, More

Cary Joji Fukunaga’s No Time To Die now faces another delay with a date instead slated for October 8. The film, which sees Daniel Craig reprising the role for one final outing as secret agent, James Bond, sees our hero forced out of his tranquil life with a rescue mission that turns out to far more treacherous than expected.

No Time To Die was previously set for a November 2019 release before enduring multiple delays and setbacks due to the global pandemic which affected theatrical exhibitors, in addition to the tens of millions more spent by MGM in advertising. Craig is joined by Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen, Rory Kinnear, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah.

Other film delays include Sony’s Morbius now moved to January 21, 2022, and Uncharted, to February 11, 2022.

Arclight Films

Writer and director Courtney Paige’s new film, The Sinners, has been acquired in four territories as of Thursdsy for international sales agent, Arclight Films. International deals include Signature for the UK, Defiant for Australia, and AT Entertainment for Japan;

The film, which Brainstorm Media will release on February 19, centers on an A-list girl clique that starts a cult where each of them must embody one of the seven deadly sins. They realize there is more to their small religious town after they go missing one by one.

Paige penned the teen cult thriller alongside Erin Hazlehurst, and Madison Smith. The film stars Kaitlyn Bernard, Brenna Llewellyn and Brenna Coates.

Matt Theo in RAGE (Prima Lux Films)

As Deadline reports, John Balazs’s psychological thriller, Rage, now has a U.S. roll out plan from Gravitas Pictures. The film will release simultaneously on VOD in the states and on Vimeo On Demand in Australia from February 23.

The award-winning film stars Matt Theo and Hayley Beveridge and centers on a beleagured married couple forced to cope with the post-trauma of a violent break in, the uncertain fate of their marriage, and the likely consequences of seeking retribution. Natascha Maymon, Tottie Goldsmith, Richard Norton and Jasper Bagg also star in the pic which I reviewed here.

Currently filming in Qatar and Turkey is an untitled Jason Statham action thriller from director Guy Ritchie, which now has Hugh Grant up for a role along with Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes and Josh Harnett. Per Deadline: The feature follows MI6 guns-and-steel agent (Statham) who is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker.
