NIGHT OF THE RONIN: Nathan Bender’s Multi-Award Winning Action Short Slays Online!
Two years after making the festival rounds, director Nathan Bender’s new indie shortfilm, Night Of The Ronin, is now online. The project is just the latest to surface from 6 Brothers Productions whose “Reload” webseries landed on my radar back during the heyday fruition of The Hit List, and I’d been inclined to see this latest one after catching its teaser on the socials a long while back.
Night Of The Ronin stars Jeffim Sheroky who was another recurring name from The Hit List yesteryear. He and Bender shepherd the film’s action sequences along with co-stars Nathan Lord and Alexander Robinson. The result brings a notable tribute of fanservice of the action cinema kind from choreography and costume to props and the like – topped off with a few moments of offbeat comedy and increasingly gratuitous violence and gore in the second half…
After a double cross gone wrong, the unprofessional hitman and his bosses girl are on the run. After surviving a horrific beat down they retreat to her childhood home in hopes of surviving a wave of armed goons looking to retrieve the mobsters property and the head of The Ronin who betrayed him.
Jeffim Sheroky, Amelia Conway and Alexander Robinson star in this rapid fire love letter to the action cinema from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and now; with a brutal edge on the action sequences that bloodthirsty Director (Nathan Bender) adds to make Night of The Ronin a crimson soaked, masterfully choreographed and viciously executed addition to the action genre.

It’s a fun watch, and bodes as the kind of project that fuels what I do on here. It ain’t easy to accomplish either, so kudos to these artists.
Enjoy Night Of The Ronin in the player below, and mind your viewing surroundings as this one goes in for the red stuff quite generously in the second half:
Native New Yorker. Been writing for a long time now, and I enjoy what I do. Be nice to me!
