Charting the course for a December 20 rollout in South Korea is Lotte Cultureworks with the Korean release of Noryang: Deadly Sea. Actor Kim Yun-seok carries the lead role of admiral Yi Sun-shin for director Kim Han-min’s third and final cinematic expression of the historical figure with a story set in 1598, as Yi readies for his last valiant battle against the Wae army near the end of the seven year Imjin War.
The film also stars Baek Yoon-sik, Jung Jae-young and Huh Joon-ho. Well Go USA will release the film stateside in the new year following its rights acquisition from sales agent Acemaker back in May.
