After several days of teasing fans with vague images and posts, Bat In The Sun is now all in with their latest Kickstarter now live for Legend Of The White Dragon. Fans who’ve eyed the buzz on this project so far will undoubtedly recognize its DNA – made obvious with the clear casting of talents like Jason David Frank and Johnny Yong Bosch, former stars of a certain long-running tokusatsu series. Of course, there’s also this:
In the Aftermath, the city was left decimated. A past reminder of the great battle and fall of heroes. As a result of the death and destruction the city became known as Angel Graves. The heroes were blamed, stripped of their titles and hunted. But as evil once again threatens to return they must rise from the ashes with the power of the White Dragon.
The project is being billed as a darker and gritter fan service offering much like a lot of what fans have seen of late. I’ve heard that Bosch’s most recent project, The Order, is still well on the way and which falls in line with a lot of what the actors have been involved with; Frank has partaken plentily on a number of ambitious projects from Bat In The Sun whose in-house director Aaron Schoenke shepherds the Superpower Beat Down series. Bosch’s recent credits partly include Death Grip and Broken Path, and Koichi Sakamoto’s electrifying Jackie Chan ode, Extreme Heist.
It is important that we deliver what the fans want and deserve and Kickstater allows us to do just that! This way we remain 100% in control of the project, giving us the freedom to create a compelling story, intense action sequences, and spectacular visual effects without any studio telling us no.
