PENANCE: New Teaser Poster, Fest Trailer Revealed For Nikolas Pelekai’s Indie-Action Debut! [UPDATED]
The twentieth edition of Fantastic Fest is underway as of Friday, and with this, we get a pair of official posters for Nikolas Pelekai’s feature directing debut, Penance. One poster features stuntman Stephano Rodriguez, and the other features Rodriguez along with leads Travis Gomez and Bobby Hernandez.
Directed from a script by Pelekai and co-scribe Jacob Stauff and produced and filmed on a budget of $7,000, Penance was completed within twenty-five days, spread across more than three months. The movie follows two foster brothers – trained mercenaries whose foray into the city’s criminal underworld to rescue a loved one turns fatal, escalating into a years-long, maddening descent into a quest for vengeance.
Rodriguez and Gomez head up a top-to-bottom cast of mostly stunt professionals, all contributing an acting role for Pelekai in his career evolution from stunts to directing; Rounding out the cast are Bobby Hernandez, Chelsea Goldsmith and KC Coy, along with Alan Ulises Silva Garcia, Juan Flaco Reyes, Steven Rodriguez, Gigi Santos, and Emma Anne Wedemeyer.
Penance is presented by exec producer James Cullen Bressack and makes its World Premiere on Monday, September 22 at Fantastic Fest. Check out the posters below along with the newest festival trailet, and tap here for the previous teaser.
