Period Action Epic, VIKING DESTINY, Lands At Saban For U.S. Distribution

Film Mode Entertainment has been busy at the Cannes market with its package of titles for buyers. Their latest prospects now lie with Saban Films who’ve officially acquired producer and Hard Boiled Sweets helmer David L.G. Hughes’ epic odyssey adventure, Viking Destiny, which also managed to nab earlier territories in the U.K., Germany, Italy, Australia & New Zealand and The Middle East.

Written and directed by David L.G. Hughes, the film explores the legendary crusades of Scandinavian explorers.  Incredible action sequences containing exceptionally high production value are sure to wow audiences worldwide.

In VIKING DESTINY, Odin, the Norse god of war and wisdom, is played by STAMP.  The adventure/fantasy centers on a young Norse girl, the rightful heir to the Viking kingdom, who is banished after she’s framed for the murder of her father, the king.  The expert team behind these action sequences along with the performances by such a remarkable cast have collaborated to create some of the most innovative and jaw-dropping action sequences you have ever witnessed.

The film had a special screening last week as well with the cast led by OSCAR®-nominated actor Terence Stamp (Superman, Superman 2, Wanted, The Limey, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace), Martyn Ford (Boyka: Undisputed IV, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Accident Man) and Ian Beattie (Game Of Thrones), with Andee Ryder also producing and Kwesi Dickson, Clay Epstein and Tony Krantz executive producing.

Executive Producer and President of Film Mode Entertainment, Clay Epstein said, “This was an ambitious first film for Film Mode to executive produce, but with such supportive partners, we are thrilled with the result. We couldn’t be more pleased to work with Saban Films once again on this successful distribution deal.”

Says Hughes: “We’ve created an epic and action packed fantasy adventure film. I’m thrilled to screen VIKING DESTINY for audiences in Cannes. Moviegoers will have the chance to see the undeniable magic that TERRENCE STAMP brings as the Viking God, Odin. I’m especially proud of his scenes with our lead actress ANNA DEMETRIOU – they are literally out of this world.”

The deal was negotiated by Clay Epstein, President of Film Mode Entertainment, and Jonathan Saba, Senior VP Distribution, Sales and Marketing for Saban Films. The U.S. distributor also recently acquired Keanu Reeves-led mystery crime thriller, Siberia from IM Global.
