PIGS: Help Bring Chrisse Soukaï’s Pulpy, Blood-Soaked, Feminist Action Crime Short To Life!
It’s been a minute since I pitched a crowdfunder, and this one fell on my lap while scrolling online. It comes from Chrisse Soukaï who, after building her acting craft through a number of projects in the last few years is now ready to make Pigs her coming out party in the new year.
The short follows two sisters, Virginia and Billie, who are pulled back into the orbit of their charming but dangerous father, Lansky, for what’s supposed to be one last heist. Alongside their oddball crew, including the soft-hearted Joey and the volatile Bugs, things quickly spiral out of control.
The project is billed as a “pulpy, blood-soaked crime story with a feminist edge.” It has a pitch video out over at Seed&Spark as well, featuring Soukaï along with actors Ti Young and Remo Schrock, and producer Daniela Pallares, among others making their case for the project.
The influences on display are hard to miss here, too, with references to Quentin Tarantino and Oliver Stone that should appeal to anyone keen on what Soukaï’s concept conveys.
I’ll make that video available here as well. In the meantime, there’s just a little over three weeks to get the finances going and needs your help accordingly, so head over to the landing page and help make Pigs a reality!
