Possible Synopsis For DIE HARD 6

20th Century Fox is fast tracking production of the sixth installment of the Die Hard franchise. Actor Bruce Willis, who has played the lead role in film now five-part film series as the larger-than-life New York Detective John McClaine, announced the film upon the theatrical release of A Good Day To Die Hard, which also stars Jai Courtney.

On Saturday, senior writer Eoin Friel over at The Action Elite was recently contacted by producer Jacqueline Swift with new information about the possible plot details that await the sixth installment:

We were contacted by Jacqueline Swift who said there’s a rumour going around that British screenwriter and author Ben Trebilcook who penned a couple of Die Hard 4 drafts a few years back has done a treatment for a sixth. It is set in Japan and involves the Nakatomi Corporation having a commendation for John McClane on the 25th anniversary of the Nakatomi siege, which apparently some parties involved like. Seeing as one ‘Good Day’ producer is producing Trebilcook’s martial arts movie ‘Knockout’, it looks like he could actually be involved in ’6′.

The 1989 action classic was directed by John McTiernan and featured Willis facing highly organized east German terrorists who seized hostages at the L.A.-based Nakatomi Corporation, headed by Joseph Takagi, played by James Shigeta. The film also starred Bonnie Bedelia, Reginald VelJohnson, De’voreaux White, Alan Rickman, William Atherton and the late actor Alexander Godunov.

Trebilcook is currently slated to appear in the upcoming Neil Johnson film, Death Machine, while Knockout, which is currently in the works for lead actress Zara Phythian is in-development.
