Production Starts In Dubai For Jackie Chan Actioner, KUNG FU YOGA

High profile action star Jackie Chan is not exactly easy to keep low key, so it’s no surprise to anyone paying attention that he and the cast and crew of the new action comedy, Kung Fu Yoga, have been on hand in Dubai for a while now. However, what’s finally been made clear is exactly where filming will take place, according to a memo sent out to guest at the Atlantis, The Palm Resort & Hotel which partly reads as follows:

“We are very excited to be taking part in the filming of an epic new Kung Fu movie set for release in 2016. We would therefore like to warn you that filming will take place throughout the resort from September 28 to October 2015.

“Whilst the majority of the resort will be unaffected, we have put in place a number of temporary measures in order to minimise the disruption to your Atlantis experience. We thank you for your patience and we invite you to take this opportunity to watch filming take place.”

The memo also informed fans to stay calm during the fight scenes that are expected to take place in and around the hotel through the end of the month. Kung Fu Yoga was announced less than a year ago with Viacom18 Motion Pictures India developing the feature film with China’s Taihe Entertainment and Shinework Media.
Chan leads a cast opposite Bollywood and Tollywood actor Sonu Sood (Gabbar Is Back) with IMDB citing breakout Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff (Heropanti) and Bruce Lee, My Brother star Aarif Rahman among others, and Chan cohort and Hong Kong veteran Stanley Tong returning to the director’s chair with Dubai as one of the expected shooting locations next to Beijing and India.
A plot is not officially known on top of further needed casting info, but production just began so there’s plenty of time to learn more as the movie moves forward. In the meantime, Chan fans in Asia can catch the action star globetrotting around the world with Johnny Knoxville in Renny Harlin’s Skiptrace this December.
