Put Your Seatbelts On! Final BLACK WIDOW Trailer Drops Fast And Furious

Few moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have had as much impact as Natasha Romanoff’s self-sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. Black Widow has long been one of the MCU’s favorite characters, so her untimely demise was heartbreaking on multiple levels.

While a stand-alone Black Widow movie has been in development (and stalled) since April 2004, Natasha will finally get her chance to come to terms with her past in Marvel Studio’s Black Widow in July, simultaneously on the big screen and through rental via Disney+.

The first official trailer dropped March 9, when Marvel was still hoping for a May release. But Marvel fans got an Easter present with the April 3 final trailer. (Wait. I see what you did there, Marvel Studios. Final countdown much? 4-3-21??)

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina.

The final trailer, in line with prior entries, gives us everything we’ve come to expect and love about MCU films — plenty of action and funny one-liners. Rather than serving as a simple origin film, fans will watch a post-Civil War Natasha go home to make amends and clean up some “unfinished business.” We also get Stranger Things’ David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, or Russia’s version of Captain America; Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova; and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff, a mother-figure to Natasha.

Black Widow will be released in theaters July 9, as well as via Disney+ Premier Access.
