The past few years have been some of the most eventful for director John Balazs who just swept this year’s Action On Film Megafest in five categories, including Best Breakout Action Performer of the Year for actress Adele Elasmar. Nowadays you’ll also find him toiling away at post production on his latest dark new crime drama, Rage, with Melbourne-based La Rosa Productions joining in as producer on the new film following a deal officiated earlier this week.
Penned by Michael J. Kospiah, Rage, takes off as mild-mannered husband Noah (Matt Theo) is left comatose with wife Madeline (Hayley Beveridge) deeply traumatised following a violent home invasion. The plot thickens when Noah awakens and learns that one of the attackers is still at large, unraveling a twisted tale of brutal revenge just as Bennett (Richard Norton), an afflicted veteran detective, fights his own inner demons whilst trying to solve the case.
Balazs is also producing via his Prima Lux banner with partner Marlane Ghmed. Topping several earlier film credits, the two have swept the festival scene for nearly two years with award-winning Prima Lux short productions, hitman thriller, Dancer and roaring action-packed crime thriller, Night Shift. Their success has also begun paving the way for Balazs to inaugurate a monthly online festival for action fans and filmmakers alike with the International Action Film Awards ahead of its main 2020 event to be later dated.
Rage will be Balazs’s feature debut, which now gets a brand new poster following the production deal with La Rosa.

We feel fortunate because he not only has a great deal of experience on film sets and behind-the-scenes, but also does his due-diligence in acquiring projects that he feels have a significant impact on the marketplace both creatively and financially.”
La Rosa Productions, launched by Adam La Rosa, aims to provide financial assistance for market-worthy TV, documentary and feature film productions as well as to provide production and marketing assistance for TV, documentary and feature film productions. In addition to developing Luke Creely’s new drama, Salt Lake, the company is also shepherding Liam Firmager’s upcoming music doc, Suzi Q, which premieres at the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 15.
