RAGE: Pre-Production Now Underway For John Balazs’ Feature Debut

Rage

Aussie director John Balazs‘ work in the past year and change have been all but some of the best I’ve scene on the shortfilm circuit. The goal, as always however, has been to grow into bigger projects and as of March next year, he plans on doing just that with the new independent thriller, Rage, which has up-and-comimg Matt Theo set to star from a script by Michael J. Kospiah.

After a violent home invasion leaves him in a coma and his wife deeply traumatized, a mild-mannered husband awakens to find out that one of the attackers is still on the loose. As they try to move on with their lives, one day his nearly-despondent wife spots the attacker, opening up a twisted tale of brutal revenge where all isn’t as it seems.

The film aims to explore the aftermath of trauma, the expectations of modern marriage, revenge and infidelity.

Balazs is penning the script and is producing with partner Marlane Ghmed through their Prima Lux banner. Casting is still underway for the film on which Balazs is still keeping further details close to the chest, although with any luck, his solo debut feature at the helm could very well become a welcome addition at Netflix, so, fingers crossed.

Balazs has laid claim to a great deal of festival fanfare since last year’s action thriller shortfilm success, Dancer. With production on Rage inbound, he now aims to continue that posterity later this year with his latest fight-heavy short actioner, Night Shift, with Adele Elasmar, Liz Conrado and Stephen Degenaro starring.
