Zack Snyder revealed a trio of images via social media which you can view above, conveying some conceptual art for his new Netflix space adventure epic, Rebel Moon.
The images come with the announcements of newly added cast members Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Shantaram, The Gentleman, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Djimon Hounsou (The King’s Man, A Quiet Place Part II, Blood Diamond), Doona Bae (The Silent Sea, Jupiter Ascending, Sense8), and Ray Fisher (Zack Snyder’s Justice League, True Detective, Women of the Movement).
The aforementioned all join actress Sofia Boutella who was firstly attached to news of the project last November. Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang round out the cast with a script storied by Snyder and by Kurt Johnstad, and written by Snyder and Johnstad, and by Shay Hatten.
When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
Rebel Moon is the first feature to fall under the first look partnership between The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller, and Netflix. The film is also the latest to come together following Snyder’s success with zombie heist thriller, Army Of The Dead.
The Snyders are producing the film alongside Wesley Coller for The Stone Quarry, and with Eric Newman for Grand Electric. Hatten and Johnstad are exec producing next to Bergen Swanson and Grand Electric’s Sarah Bowen.
