RED SONJA: Samuel Goldwyn Takes M.J. Bassett’s Dynamite Comic Adaptation For U.S. Release
Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired Red Sonja for U.S. release from Millenium Media. M.J. Bassett directed the revamp featuring Matilda Lutz in the latest screen treatment since the 1985 production starring Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Red Sonja follows our heroine as she quests to face off against Dragan The Magnificent and his deadly bride, Dark Annisia, with the help of an unlikely band of warriors. Also starring are Robert Sheehan, Wallis Day, Martyn Ford, Michael Bisping, Phillip Winchester, Trevor Eve, and Katrina Durden.
The film was written by Tasha Huo, based on the comic formally at Marvel, now currently based at Dynamite Entertainment as of 2005. Included in the news was a new look at Lutz in full regalia which you can view below via Screendaily.
