Rupert Wyatt Parts Ways From Fox's GAMBIT

I’m a little discouraged by some of the news now circulating online (I’m not even gonna bother covering Pacific Rim 2 as I’ve just about run out of patience here to even ponder a thought enough to blog about it). To be quite frank, it gets tiring and a little draining when reading about projects that go awry for some reason or another.

The same is the case for Fox’s current development of the Marvel adaptation, Gambit with Channing Tatum starring and producing. The word now is that it’s director, Rupert Wyatt, just walked from the film with THR citing creative and budgetary issues pertaining to the script, which was written by Josh Zetumer.

So, first we lose Tatum, then we get him back, and then we lose Wyatt. And all while Fox is looking to start production soon for the sake of having a new frontman for its Marvel X-cineverse with Hugh Jackman now on his way out in James Mangold’s next Wolverine movie.

Yes, I like all the hype running amuck now about X-Men, Gambit and Deadpool sharing the same space and all, but can we at least get a damn director? Oh, and we also just cast our leading lady as well.

Fox, let’s get our ducks in a row. Let’s work.
