SAKAMOTO DAYS Teaser Debuts Ren Meguro As The Live-Action Ultimate Assassin Coming In 2026!

Gintama and Under Ninja director Yuichi Fukuda will not have his audience withering away in the new year without delivering the goods on another wholesome live-action take on a hit animated series. Thus, we get Sakamoto Days, based on the hit manga by Yuto Suzuki and starring Ren Meguro in the title role and featured accordingly in both posters which debuted this week, as well as the official teaser ahead of a Spring 2026 release.

Taro Sakamoto was once the strongest assassin, but retired after falling in love with Aoi. He now runs a small shop in town called “Sakamoto Shoten.” He doesn’t carry any particular weapon, but fights using whatever is available. He loves his wife and daughter more than anything.
