SAKURA: STEPSISTER STREET FIGHTER Kickstarts Crowdfunding With A Vengeance!

Just a few weeks after unveiling the official poster for the brand new film project, Sakura: Stepsister Streetfighter, the official Facebook page has launched an epic, NSFW “J-sploitation”-style trailer pitch for the film which you can also find at the official Kickstarter platform as of Tuesday night. Sakura: Stepsister Streetfighter is the latest take on Toei’s classic 1970’s karate heroine played by Etsuko Shihomi, with independent writer and producer Mikey Barnes and filmmaker Alex Chesborough now recapturing her very essence through lead six-time world Karate champion, actress and stuntwoman, Gemma Nguyen.

Sakura is a tale of bloody revenge, played out amidst rampant corruption and greed. As a young girl, Sakura helplessly watched the brutal murder of her father. As a young adult, Sakura sets out on a brutal path of vengeance, discovering the reasons behind her father’s death, as well as discovering who she really is along the way. It’s a gritty, action-packed thrill ride that never takes its foot off the gas.

The page has also unveiled a handful of new Grindhouse-style lobby cards on their page which you can check out below. One current goal of the Kickstarter is to be able to make it into a live-action feature-length film, should it surpass its goals. And if the new trailer is any indication, a feature-length telling of Sakura’s story of bloody revenge served in cold-blood should be rightfully pleasing to the eye.
Watch Nguyen massacre the baddies below, and head on over to the official Kickstarter page to learn more on how you can donate in accordance with matching perks.
