SHELTER: A Storm Is Coming For Jason Statham In The Official Trailer
“Mason isn’t just an assassin. He’s a precision instrument…”
Good God. You have to wonder how often a movie can hype up an action hero character. With Jason Statham, it’s to be expected, especially after The Beekeeper and A Working Man in recent memory, along with the last fifteen years of “Dad Action Cinema” crowning protagonists as unassuming types forced to re-emerge with a “particular set of skills”.
To this end, we get Shelter, with Statham leading the way for director Ric Roman Waugh’s latest. Naomi Ackie, Bill Nighy, and Bodhi Rae Breathnach also star for the film’s January 30 release in the U.S. from Black Bear Pictures.
On a remote coastal island, a man living in self-imposed exile rescues a young girl from a deadly storm. This action sets off a chain of events, bringing him out of seclusion and both into harm’s way. As their lives intertwine, he must navigate protecting the orphaned girl while battling enemies from is past – setting them both on a breathless odyssey for survival and a deeper journey toward redemption.
