The Adil & Bilal era of “Bayhem” action cinema is certainly living up to the task in the years since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence made the Bad Boys franchise a household name with its first two installments. Sony’s Bad Boys For Life proved ample in its revival under the stewardship of the creative duo behind Black (2015) and Gangsta (2018), in addition to the casting of Expend4bles co-star Jacob Scipio in a key role that ultimately paved the way for the events laid out in the 2020 threequel. The same can be said for actor Dennis Greene in the role of son-in-law Reggie, and while we’re at it, we can also extend this to actor Joe Pantoliano in his franchise reprisal. BAD BOYS FOR LIFE: Don’t Miss The Newest Red-Band Trailer For The Long-Awaited Action Comedy Threequel

I’m still not over how bland the first official poster is for the January release of Bad Boys For Life. The newest trailer now online as of Tuesday certainly has more appeal and with none other than Will Smith and Martin Lawrence leading the way as they tear through the streets, fighting all sorts of crime and shenanigans and what not. Their latest challenge? An Albanian merc looking to even the score with Miami’s finest. Directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Broeders, Black, Gangsta) take the helm following up on Michael Bay’s predecessors which have both become favored as part-and-parcel to Bay’s style and brand of action cinema, comprised of riproaring chase scenes and shootouts and copious colloquial banter between the films’ two leads. Here’s hoping El Arbi and Fallah can replicate as of January 17.

In a span of 23 years, Sony Pictures’s Bad Boys franchise has long been both a success and a “what if” for fans who’ve waited for a third installment since Michael Bay unloaded an explosive sequel to the 1995 original. For this, all eyes are now on Bad Boys For Life with word from Deadline that Belgian directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are negotiating with Sony to direct the film beginning in August. El Arbi and Fallah paved a career path for themselves in TV and film, scoring a hit in 2015 with their second feature, Black, and are now in tow with their latest, Gangsta. It Only Took A Few Decades But BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 Finally Gets New Directors And Possibly Better Prospects

Paramount is officially back on track this week with word that two new directors are signed to direct the long-awaited on-again-off-again Beverly Hills Cop 4. Belgian directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are attached to helm the film following the initial trilogy thusfar with actor and comedian Eddie Murphy expected to reprise the role of cunning, quick-witted fish-out-of-water Detroit detective, Axel Foley. The first two films measure excellently as buddy-cop action classics of yesteryear with the first two showcasing the misadventures of Foley and odd-couple Beverly Hills detectives Rosewood and Taggart, played by Judge Reinhold and John Ashton.
