THE BOYS: Season Two Lights The Match In The Official Teaser Trailer

Creator Eric Kripke’s 2019 live-action serial comic adaptation, The Boys, was a superb hit in many of its parts, drawing together an interwoven tale of ragtag outlaws out to uncover the dark side of superheroism in all its corporatized glory and idolatry. Even moreso was the culminating arc centered primarily on the role of ex-cop Billy Butcher, played ferociously by actor Karl Urban, entrenched in a mission of vengeance exacerbated further by the mystique surrounding the presumed death of his wife at the hands of world-famous ‘supe’, Homelander, played aptly by Antony Starr. The show’s first season is avaialble on Amazon Prime, and so with a September launch date in the works, you’ll have plenty of time to catch up if you’ve missed it. BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL Returns With New Anime Series Next Month

Mangaka Hiroaki Samura’s Blade Of The Immortal is back in the mix with a new anime on the way streaming the first two episodes October 10 on Amazon Prime Video. Hiroshi Hamasaki (Steins;Gate, Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Orange) took the mantle this year for the show which will retell the epic, blood-soaked action saga about a samurai condemned to slaying aq thousand evil men in order to regain his mortality. I don’t know much else about the show from there except Takashi Miike’s Magnet-acquired 2017 adaptation from Warner Bros. Japan was a solid thriller that hit many of the right notes with fans I spoke to. I’m certain Hamasaki’s work here will be a welcome treat come next month. (ANIME NEWS NETWORK)
