Sixty Minutes To Midnight and Death Hunt helmer Neil Mackay and his team have been stirring about for a month now, promoting the new action sci-fi horror thriller, Armed. The film hails from Rapid City Entertainment and is expected to release sometime in the Fall. A group of veteran marines steal a shipment of weapons from the military only to find a cold war era robot that hunts them down, determined to complete it’s mission. Mackay directed the pic from a script by Terry McDonald who also penned Sixty Minutes To Midnight. That film is still very much on my queue, but I did get to catch Death Hunt which I enjoyed, and in which McDonald also acted in. Armed sees a cast led by Omar Tucci, Rick Amsbury, Mason Cromwell and Greg Johnston. There are now a total of three teaser trailers as of Friday, the latest which you […]
Per my usual angle here at Film Combat Syndicate, following stunt professionals eventually led me to Alex Chung who is now ramping up his debut independent feature, Contracts 3. A full narrative spin-off from two earlier proof shorts, this one pits our cast deep in the brutal tale of a group of assassins who find themselves as targets of a more supreme killer. We only have a teaser trailer to go on, but it whets the appetite plenty. Ask me a month ago what Crazy Fist is and I couldn’t tell you. A low-quality teaser poster is floating online for the project however and it hails from director Qing Guo, telling of a former MMA champion now billionaire corporate royal who pairs up with an investiagtor to uncover a conspiracy involving the deadly illegal tournament that killed his brother. Bodybuilder Kai Greene has gone on social media with a few […]
Now there’s a face I rarely see these days. I was just thinking about actor Mario Van Peebles the other day and reminiscing a bit his career. The last Van Peebles pic I saw was Baadasssss! in 2003 and now it just so happens to be a point of reference in the latest exclusive at Deadline regarding his newest starring/directing venture, Armed, which wrapped a little over a year ago. The movie follows a former U.S. Marshall (Van Peebles) who has fallen on hard times after he led his undercover agents in a raid that went horribly wrong. Suffering extreme anxiety attacks, divorced and temporarily living at his successful brothers home, the Marshall literally runs into Grace, a beautiful, freespirited, self proclaimed tantric healer and erotic filmmaker. In spite of their differences, Grace finds a kindred spirit in the Marshall who she believes is in need of spiritual enlightenment. When […]
