MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS Adds Star Trek 3's Roberto Orci As EP And Two New Writers

Following a press release back in May, the forthcoming production of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers finally found itself new additions to its creative team.

X-Men: First Class scribes Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller have officially been tasked to provide the screenplay for the new film which will also be executive produced by veteran scribe and former partner with Alex Kurtzman, writer Roberto Orci. The new film marks the first major feature-length effort since Saban Comapany launched the American Tokusatsu crossover hit series on TV almost 20 yearz ago, prior to two Hollywood films hit the big screen between 1995 and 1997.

The new film is part of a newly announced joint venture between Lionsgate and Saban Brands, which grants the film a reboot to attract audiences who have contributed to the major successes of the former, with films such as the Hunger Games and Divergent film franchises, both which are currently in production with releases pending. Official updates are still developing pertaining to who will star in the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot, so stay tuned for more information.

In the meantime, Stentz and Miller ate currently providing their services on other projects, including the screenplay for Top Gun 2 with producer Jerry Bruckheimer while Orci is still on deck to direct Star Trek 3 for a 2016 release upon greenlight.
