BEVERLY HILLS COP Enlists Reboot Deal With Paramount And Netflix
It looks like Paramount’s Beverly Hills Cop franchise will finally get the reboot succession some fans have been waiting for with the latest confirmation from Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr. The studio is at the table with Netflix for a one-time deal with a sequel option also in play to revive actor Eddie Murphy’s iconic portrayal of sly, fast talking detective Axel Folely to audiences. Martin Brest’s inaugural 1984 feature launched a trilogy centered on the character whose hilarious crime-solving exploits saw the character frequent Beverly Hills all the way from his original station in the city of Detroit whenever he needed to solve a tangible case.
