It’s taken sometime for director Dean Meadows to get his latest gritty female-centric action thriller, Bitchfight, off the ground. Thankfully production is finally slated for early next year with legendary martial arts actress Cynthia Rothrock starring, and as of this week, Meadows has unveiled at least one more casting detail with a heartfelt nod to a time-honored legend of American action cinema, late actor Steve James. Filmmaker Dean Meadows is preparing for what he aspires to be a spectacular, brutal female-centric action thriller in the forthcoming production for Bitchfight. Already lined-up with a breweing cast of led by action superstar Cynthia Rothrock (Mercenaries, White Tiger), the film previously unveiled what it has in store with a concept trailer which went viral earlier this year, and to say the least, with a title like Bitchfight, don’t expect an apology as this one aims to please! Casting announcements are also underway as well and as of this week, Meadows and his team are reuniting Rothrock with her co-star from a cult classic of kung fu cinema yesteryear; If you know the movie, you’re in the clear. Actress, martial arts legend and International Sports Hall Of Famer Cynthia Rothrock was in Burbank, California to promote her latest family action drama, The Martial Arts Kid at Dragonfest on Sunday. Meanwhile, action fans were also able to get a glimpse of her very much more badass, bloody and not-so family-oriented all female action flick, Bitchfight, with producer and director Dean Meadows. Although no plot details have been made available, footage arrived on Sunday in the form of a new brutal, gritty, grindhouse-style promo that was shot late last year and can now be viewed in the embed below.
