Stemming from Kitakubo Hiroyuki’s 2000 OVA and its posterity through CLAMP and Production I.G.’s furtherance of anime shows and films, it’s director Shutaro Oku who’s been leading the charge of late with a spate of live-action films nodding to the Blood franchise. Enter Blood-Club Dolls 1 following Asura Girl – the live-action 2017 prequel release of Shiotani Naoyoshi’s animated feature, Blood-C: The Last Dark (2012).
